Code of Conduct
Below is an example of the Code of Conduct you will receive in your welcome email if you chose to join us in a workshop.

At Safer Sounds, it is vital that all participants can adhere to the Code of Conduct and everyone attending feels safe, heard, encouraged and included.
A clear and compassionate code of conduct is essential in a songwriting workshop because songwriting is an inherently vulnerable process. Participants are often sharing deeply personal stories, emotions, and experiences through their lyrics — sometimes for the first time.
A code of conduct helps create a foundation of safety and mutual respect, where everyone knows what is expected and what behaviors are supported. It ensures that the space remains inclusive, nonjudgmental, and free from harm or discrimination, allowing participants to take creative risks and be fully present without fear. When people feel seen, heard, and respected, they write from a place of truth — and that’s where the most powerful songs are born.
If at any point you feel that someone in the workshop is not respecting the code of conduct — whether through words, actions, or subtle behavior — please know that your experience matters and you're not alone.
You are encouraged to speak to a facilitator privately, either during or after the session, in whatever way feels most comfortable (in person, by message, or email).
We take all concerns seriously and will respond with care, confidentiality, and a commitment to making things right. Our goal is to protect the safety and dignity of everyone in the space. Whether you need support, mediation, or simply someone to listen, we're here to hold space for you.
No issue is too small to bring forward.
